Myrtle Cottage, Southgate, is on a no-through road and adjacent to the footpath onto Pennard Golf Course (visitors welcome) and a 10 minute walk down to Pobbles and Three Cliffs Bay famous as a finalist in a national competition for Britain's greatest view).
Forget the car as you have everything on hand you came for; glorious cliff walks, safe and sandy beaches for all ages and swimming, rock climbing, golf, surfing, prawning and fishing. Sailing etc is available across the bay at Oxwich. Mumbles and Swansea with its many cultural facilities is only 8 miles away. A 40 minute drive takes you to the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains.
The original house dates from 1920 but was extended and updated in 2007 to a very high standard. Once the family home of the present owners here are some key virtues:
Two linked but fully independent wings allow flexible living for large or small groups. These can be booked individually, main house sleeps 8/9 and annex 5/6.
A large new kitchen with range cooker, walnut table seating 12+, Welsh dresser, fridge and fridge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher etc - very well equipped as home from home. (Annex wing also has a kitchen with fridge freezer washing machine etc.)
New luxury ensuites (with power shower etc) and bathroom for all 4 bedrooms in the main wing. (The 2 bedrooms in the annexe wing share a bathroom).

One or other wing can be rented outside peak seasons. We do not let both wings simultaneously to unconnected groups.
Post office, shops, pub and cafe etc are all within easy walking distance.

Directions
Exit 42 off M4,= A 483 Swansea. Keep on this road for several miles into Swansea (sea on your left). Continue through Swansea towards Mumbles, passing Sainsbury's on left, the Marina to the left, Marriot Hotel, always keeping sea to your left.Pass Swansea University on your Right, turning for Singleton Hospital on Right, and in about a mile you will see The Woodman on your right at traffic lights. Turn Right here onto B4436, up Mayals Hill.
Continue for 5 miles, by-passing Murton and Bishopston, going through Kittle and past Pennard Church on your right. (Do NOT turn Right here).
In another mile enter SOUTHGATE.Contnue for 1/4 mile until you see Pennard Golf Club House ahead and the road turns sharply downhiil.On the crest of this corner you will see BENDRICK DRIVE directly to your Right.Turn down Bendrick Drive. Myrtle Cottage (name on house) is near the bottom of the road on the Left.
NB.No 14 Bus from Swansea Quadrant runs every half hour or hour and stops outside Southgate Post Office, a few metres past the Bendrick Drive entrance.
