Occupying a splendid position on the lower slopes of Silver Howe, overlooking Grasmere Lake, Heron Pike and the surrounding fells, Dale End Farm is situated one mile from Grasmere village, along the winding Langdale/Red Bank Road.
A traditional stone built, Lakeland farmhouse with many attractive features, having been carefully and lovingly restored to provide a high level of comfort, space and flexibility of accommodation.
Entrance is into a large hallway with sofa, bookshelves and w.c. with hooks for coats and space for boots. Down a step into the large lounge with seating for 12, tv with sky, video, gas fire and superb views of the fells and Grasmere Lake.
The lounge leads through into a comfortable study with it's own TV and video, and additional seating for 7.
The kitchen is of a traditional farmhouse style with aga, hob & oven, dishwasher and views to die for! A separate utility houses a large fridge, freezer and sink.
Either the kitchen or hall entrance leads into the dining room, with a huge long table with spacious seating for 12, A real 'pass me the salt' affair! Off the dining room a door leads into the family bedroom on the ground floor, with double and single bed and an en-suite shower room.
Upstairs: A passageway leads to the adjoining door between the farm and the barn, and then onto the master bedroom with wrought iron bed and en-suite bathroom, with elevated views out over the lake and fells beyond.
The second bedroom is another double with it's own wash hand basin. The third, a twin room and the last upstairs bedroom is another double with en-suite bathroom hidden through mirrored doors. Also upstairs is an additional shower room and separate toilet.
To the front of the property, the garden is well laid out with mature shrubs, a small stream and wonderful views over the lake. A large patio with stunning views is accessed from the kitchen with steps leading down to the lower level of the garden with grassed area.
Please note that there is building work taking place at a neighboring property until June 2016 resulting in increased traffic in the area. We are in constant communication with the builders to try and minimise disruption to our guests.

Directions
Travelling by public transport

Travelling by car
From the South
Leave the M6, at J36 following the A590 (A591) towards Kendal and Windermere. Stay on the A591 all the way to Ambleside.
On the outskirts of Ambleside, turn left at the first set of lights (this area is known as Waterhead). Continue for approx 1/2 mile, and turn left just after the rugby club, signposted to Langdale and Coniston A593. *Continue on the A593 for approx 2 1/2 miles to Skelwith Bridge, where the road forks at the Skelwith Bridge Hotel, turn right onto the B5343. Continue for approx 2 miles, over the cattle grid and down the hillside ignoring the first turning on your left into Elterwater and taking the second turning to the Left (at the crossroads). The Good Life Cottage Co is the first building you come to on the right hand side.
From the North
Leave the M6 at J40 following the A66 for approx 12 1/2 miles to the St John's in the Vale turn off onto the B5322. Follow the B53422 for approx 4 miles until you come to the A591, turn left onto the A591 and continue for 7 miles. Turn right into Grasmere on the B5287 for just over 1/2 mile. As you come into Grasmere village, take the road that runs to the right hand side of the Red Lion Hotel, turn right again onto the Red Bank road. Continue on here for approx 0.6 mile then take the right hand turn up the hill and continue for a further 0.4 miles. As you come down the hill take the sharp left hand turn, almost going back on itself. At the bottom of this road you come to a crossroads, go straight over, The Good Life Cottage Co is the first building on the right hand side.
For a less daring journey, take the A591 all the way to Ambleside and follow the road through Ambleside, turning a sharp right at Hills BP Garage onto Wansfell Road, following signs for Coniston and Langdale. Turn left at the end of here and then the next right onto the A593* (See above)
