Eastside holiday cottages are situated in a tastefully converted farm steading within the Pentland Hills Regional Park, 10 minutes drive from the centre of Edinburgh.
There is an abundance of things to do in the surrounding area, as well as the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh with it's festivals and Hogmany celebrations, the surrounding area provides many outdoor activities from the world class mountain biking facilities at Glen Tress to the spectacular scenery and walking country of the Pentland Hills Regional Park on your doorstep.
Eastside Byre - Sleeps 4 + 2
Eastside Byre is entered through a traditional stone archway from the farmyard. A stone flagged corridor leads to the spacious, light, well equipped kitchen dining room with exposed beams.
There is a utility room with toilet and Belfast sink off the corridor. Four steps down from the dining area are the 2 bedrooms, one double and one twin.
The double bedroom has an en-suite shower room with wash hand basin and toilet. There is also a bathroom on this lower level, again complete with wash hand basin and toilet.
Returning to the dining room, an ash wood staircase leads to the upstairs sitting room, which has spectacular views. This is a character filled room with exposed beams and a stone hearth with wood burning stove.
There is also the option of accommodating 2 extra people up here on a comfortable double sofa bed.
Eastside Steading - Sleeps 4
Eastside Steading is entered through a traditional stone archway from the farmyard. A tiled corridor leads to a very spacious light room with an open plan kitchen dining room at one end and a cosy sitting area with sofas and stone hearth with wood burning stove at the other.
French windows lead to the garden. There is a shower/utility room with toilet off the entrance corridor. A spiral staircase with hand-crafted wrought iron banister leads upstairs to a landing, two bedrooms (one twin and one double) and a bathroom - all with velux windows to magnificent views.
Eastside Stable - Sleeps 2
Eastside Stable has a very large light sitting/dining room, with a maple wood floor and wood burning stove. At one end of this spacious room, there is an oak wardrobe, which conceals a very comfortable, full size double wall bed, as well as ample storage space.
Don't worry about extra chores at bed time - this bed is finger tip controlled and folds away fully made up!
All linen, electricity, heating and logs (for the stoves) are included in the price.

Directions
Eastside Cottages are situated just six miles from the Edinburgh City by-pass, half a mile beyond Silverburn on the A702.
To get to Eastside Cottages, you take the A702 or Biggar road from the Edinburgh City by-pass, the A720.
You drive approximately five and a half miles South West until you reach the village of Silverburn.
You then drive straight on through the village and half a mile beyond the village, on the right hand side, you will see a bus shelter and a few yards beyond it, a recessed field gate (where you can safely turn off the main road to open the gate). You proceed through this gate and one mile up the track you will find the cottages.
The price for Eastside Byre:
(sleeps 4 + 2) varies according to the season from £480.00 per week in the winter months to £720.00 per week high season (mid July until the end of August).
The price for Eastside Steading:
(sleeps 4) varies according to the season from £380.00 per week in the winter months to £600.00 per week high season (mid July until the end of August).
The price for Eastside Stable:
(sleeps 2) varies according to the season from £250.00 per week in the winter months to £370.00 per week high season (mid July until the end of August).
Short breaks of 3-4 days are considered in the winter months, as are long-term rentals.
If more than 6 people stay, then there is a charge of £50.00 per week per extra person.
Dogs are welcome, but there is an extra charge of £20.00 per week per dog, for the additional cleaning required.
Open all year round.
The most popular times of year are August and September for the festivals, Christmas and New year for the spectacular Hogmany display at the Castle and Spring/ Summer for the wildlife and lambing season, on our 3000 acre hill sheep farm.
