Glenview is a 200 year old cottage, beside the village green in the village of Kirk Yetholm, at the end of the Pennine Way, by the Cheviots.
It has recently been renovated and extended to provide modern facilities, in keeping with a boutique hotel, yet retaining its charm and cosiness.
Glenview has two sitting rooms, one with open fire, with French doors into the garden. The other has a log burning stove (logs provided), digital TV and DVD player and leads through to the beautiful, bright dining kitchen, with range cooker, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. It has French doors leading to the patio area with outdoor table and chairs, BBQ and steps up to the self contained garden.
Upstairs there is a large bedroom, Ensuite walk-in power shower, hand made king size bed and door to balcony looking out to the Cheviots. There is another double bedroom with brass double bed and Ensuite wetroom with plunge shower and views over the Bowmont Valley. The third bedroom has similar views and two twin beds with TV and DVD player. The cottage sleeps 6, but there is a sofa bed in the first sitting room if needed.
The house bathroom has a cast iron free standing Victorian style bath in a room full of character. The cottage has central heating, but in addition to this and the log fires/stoves has underfloor heating for the tiled bathroom, shower rooms and the kitchen.
The owners, having three young children themselves, have made the cottage practical for children, and can provide cots, highchairs, and even pushchairs if needed! We can also organise a qualified babysitter if you wish to eat out.
We welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs, they'll love the enclosed back garden.
We aim to provide a little bit of luxury in a holiday cottage, from the welcome pack on your arrival to your fluffy bathrobe when you have your bath and lie back on the thick mattresses with goose down duvets. A warm, cosy and relaxing time is guaranteed.
The village is ideally situated for exploring the beautiful Scottish Borders, but being a mile from the English Border and Northumberland National Park is also very convenient for visits to Northumberland and its stunning coastline.
Weekend and midweek breaks are also available.
We look forward to welcoming you to Glenview.
