Jean's Cottage is the perfect setting from which to explore the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland. It is located less than three miles from the border town of Duns, where you will find a good range of ammenities including a supermarket and eating places.
The cottage itself is one of a row of mill workers homes and retains many original features.
There is a large private green to the front of the house so the outlook is very open. You will also be welcome to use all areas of the rear garden and enjoy having breakfast on the patio or a drink by the chiminea.
On your arrival we provide a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits.
Although there are two steps into the cottage, we have attempted to make the interior as disabled friendly as possible, e.g. walk in shower with grab handle, raised chair in the sitting room.
As requirements will vary from person to person please do not hesitate to ask more questions if a member of your party has limited mobility as we may be able to help.
Some disabled aids are available to borrow at no extra charge.
Parking is on a private road close to the front door.
Jeans Cottage offers comfortable and spacious accommodation for two:
Fully equipped kitchen with washing machine, cooker, fridge, espresso machine, toaster, iron and microwave.
The twin bedroom has duvets and all linen (including towels and tea towels) is supplied.
All rooms have night storage heaters.
There is freeview TV, a dvd player and video player in the cottage.
The first £10 worth of electricity is included in the price and fuel is supplied for the woodburning stove.
There are books, videos and games for restful moments and a bench at the front of the cottage to watch the sun go down.
Well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement at no extra charge, please ask.
Guests are welcome to arrive anytime after 3pm and the cottage should be vacated by 11am on the day of departure.
More photographs are available on request.
Walkers will enjoy the easy access to the Lammermuirs, local nature reserves and other beautiful country walks while history lovers will be spoilt for choice at the many attractions this area has to offer. There are also good golf courses, swimming pools and fitness centres nearby.
