Hall Barn is situated in the heart of Constable country, just outside the picturesque village of Long Melford and close to timber-framed Lavenham. Sited in the peaceful surroundings of the Kentwell Estate, it is perfectly placed to explore Suffolks highways or visit the historic towns of Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury and Cambridge. This is the first holiday cottage being opened by Kentwell Hall.
Recently converted, and opening for the first time in winter 2010, Hall Barn offers comfortable accommodation in a quiet setting. With timber frame beams, nooks and crannies and a huge garden and antique furniture it is a charming place to relax and have fun.
The main house has three characterful bedrooms (one ensuite) and a family bathroom. The Extension houses a further two spacious bedrooms (and two bathrooms). All bedrooms can be set up as twin or double rooms.
The main house's huge sitting room comes complete with working log fire place (we'll give you a starter basket of logs for when you arrive), games and books. From here you can go directly into the large garden overlooking fields of doe-eyed cattle.
There is a lovely dining room and traditional sit-in kitchen. Upstairs you'll find a snug area with TV and DVD player, which also has a safety balustrade for keeping small children in place.
In The Extension is a small, but well-equipped kitchen and large light living area, which again leads directly onto the garden. Both houses come equipped with washing machine and dishwasher.
There is space for four cars in the drive-way and we are planning to set up a games area in the garage.

The property can be found just outside the village of Long Melford off the A134 on the way to Bury St Edmunds. The nearest rail station is in Sudbury, about 7 miles away.
