From watersports to winter sports there is always something to do. The stunning scenery of the surrounding Spey Valley area will be well known to televison viewers of the series Monarch of the Glen.
There is a fantastic variety of things to do locally from hill walking, playing golf, horse riding, mountain biking, mountain climbing and skiing in season. Famillies will enjoy the many local attractions including the Highland Folk Museum, the Highland Wildlife Park and the Clan MacPherson Museum.

Newtonmore village is in the Cairngorm National Park at the junction of the A9 Perth to Inverness road and the A86 to Fort William. Balvatin Cottages are at the southern end of the Newtonmore on the village approach road.
Steading 5 is a few minutes walk from the railway station and Citylink bus stop. The shops, bars, restaurants and cafes located in the Main Street of Newtonmore are within fifteen minutes walk of the cottage.
