Blaco Hill Cottages is comprised of seven cottages, sleeping 2 to 6 persons, set around a landscaped courtyard, they have been attractively converted from a range of farm buildings. All retain many original features and each provides their own unique accomodation and are furnished to a high standard.
"Wren Cottage" sleeps 2, is wheelchair accessable and has wet room with shower and hand rails.
Blaco Hill Farm is a working arable farm set on the outskirts of the village of Mattersey, bordering the River Idle. There are three lakes one of which has been stocked with brown trout, which guests are welcome to fish.
Opportunities for walking are plentiful on the farm and in the surrounding area. Adjacent to the farm is the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust Idle Valley nature reserve, which has a diverse variety of bird life both native and visiting species.
The market town of Retford is just 5 miles away and hosts a monthly farmers market, also a twice weekly general market. It also has a small museum of the local area and a Tourist Information Centre.
The cottages are idealy situated for exploring the Heart of England, York, Lincoln, Nottingham and York can all be reached within an hour.
The nearby town of Bawtry has a wide selection of restaurants including Italian, Chinese and Indian. There are also many village pubs that serve good English food.
Each cottage is equipped with a fully fitted kitchen having dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, electric oven and hob. All bathrooms have either walk in shower or over bath shower. Washing machines and driers are provided in a seperate laundry room.

From A1 Southbound:
Leave at Junctio 34, on a614 Bawtry. In Bawtry turn right at traffic lightson A631 Gainsborough. In village of Everton take a right turn by Sun Inn to Mattersey. In Mattersey turn left to Sutton Cum Lound. Follow road out of village for half a mile, Blaco Hill Farm is on the left hand side up a tarmaced lane.
From A1 Northbound:
Leave at junction signed Retford A620 and turn left for Retford. Follow the road for approx 2 miles and take a left turn to Sutton cum Lound. Follow this road over the canal bridge and railway to the crossroads. Go straight on into the village of Sutton and pass through. Follow the road for approx 1.5 miles, Blaco Hill Farm is on the right hand side just past a bend over the hill.
