Cottage's own web site
Bankhayes is a detached cottage on the River Piddle in the heart of Hardy's Wessex (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). It is an eighteenth century farmhouse in Piddletrenthide with a large garden which slopes gently down to the River Piddle.

The accommodation comprises: a sitting room (with large character fireplace, TV & DVD player), a fitted kitchen (with oil-fired Aga, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer & microwave), second sitting room with TV, a large conservatory with ample dining space, five bedrooms, a bathroom with separate large shower and a second large shower room. There is also a z-bed which can be moved around to further increase the sleeping accommodation. There is parking for at least 4 cars.

The nearest pub is only 2 minutes away and there are three others with equally good dining facilities in the vicinity.

The house is situated in a quiet location on a bridlepath with the opportunity for numerous walks direct from the doorstep and has wonderful views over the Piddle Valley. It is also about 12 miles from the Jurassic Coast.

Nearby attractions include the Giant at Cerne Abbas, Hardy's Cottage at Higher Bockhampton, Abbotsbury Swannery, Dorchester, Weymouth, Monkey World and Corfe Castle.

This is the first year of letting and therefore there may be some excellent late-booking opportunities.
