The village is an ancient settlement which pre-dates the doomesday book and has plenty of lovely walks and places of historic interest to visit, in nearby Richmond and Barnard Castle.

There are some quaint character full inns and eating houses in the surrounding villages, hosting a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The Lake District is easily accessible and the east coast is just 1 hour away.
