'The Stables' at New Hall Farm & Holiday Park is a barn conversion property and first entered the self catering market in the 2009 season. 'The Stables' forms part of our family owned farm and holiday park which has been established over 40 years.
The Stables is a charming two bedroom cottage linked to a 16th century manor house situated on a plateau valley formed by the Bedburn River on the eastern boundary of Hamsterley Forest in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Being only 5 miles from the main A68 England to Scotland route, 'The Stables' offers an ideal base from which to visit County Durham's many tourist attractions including 'Kynren - an Epic Tale of England' summer event at Eleven Arches, Bishop Auckland, being only 10 minutes drive.
Furthermore, Hamsterley is only a stones throw from the counties of Cumbria, North Yorkshire and Northumberland.
Hamsterley Forest itself extends to some 5000 acres and is a haven for wildlife and plants. The area offers extensive forest, moorland and riverside walks plus a visitor's centre and Tea Rooms.
Facilities are also available for cycling and pony trekking. The forest offers nationally renowned mountain bike courses and a purpose built downhill course extending to 1.5km with a 120m vertical drop.
'The Stables' is fully equipped. There is a spacious lounge comprising two settees with TV, video and set top 'Freeview'. The coal effect gas stove adds a traditional homely feel to the cottage.
The large kitchen / dining room comprises an electric oven and hob, microwave, washing machine and fridge freezer. A table and 4 chairs furnishes the room.
A winding pine staircase leads to the upper floor with its two double bedrooms. The main bedroom consists of a double and a single bed which functions as a family room. The second bedroom comprises a double bed. A set of large antique pine wardrobes and draws are provided in each room.
The bathroom located on the upper floor comprises a walk-in electric shower unit, sink and WC. A separate WC and sink is located on the ground floor.
